2020年ディスカバリーキャンプキャンセルのお知らせ

困難な時期が続いていますが、皆さんが安全で元気に過ごしていることを願っています。

ディスカバリーキャンプ2020実行委員会は、コロナウイルス感染状況とニューヨーク州内のあらゆるグループの集まりに対する政府の対策を注意深く見てきました。これをお知らせしている今の時点では、ニューヨーク州のすべてのキャンプ場はまだ閉鎖されています。

キャンプ場の再開は7月より前に予定されています。しかし、コロナウィルス感染、また再流行を防ぐため、CDC (疾病予防管理センター）、ニューヨーク州保健省、およびアメリカキャンプ協会が今後推奨するガイドラインは、キャンプでのアクティビティを大幅に制限するもになると予想されます。また、そのような制限下においても、キャンパーやスタッフには避けられない感染リスクが伴います。

これらの事情により、ディスカバリーキャンプ2020実行委員会は、2020年のサマーキャンプをキャンセルすることを決定しました。大変難しい決断ではありましたが、多くの話し合いを重ねたうえでの結論です。楽しみにしてくださっていた方々には大変申し訳ありませんが、ご理解のほどよろしくお願いします。

私たちは長い夏休みの楽しみをなくしてしまう子供たちがたくさんいることを理解しています。そこで、バーチャルサマーキャンプを計画しています。詳しくは後日ウェブサイトとFacebookページに掲載する予定ですので、楽しみにしていてください。

DISCOVERY CAMP 2020 HAS BEEN CANCELLED.

We hope everyone is doing well and staying safe in these uncertain and trying times!

Discovery Camp 2020 Executive Committee has been diligently monitoring the Coronavirus Pandemic and the subsequent governmental closure of all group gatherings within New York State. As we write this, all camp grounds in NY State are still closed.

Although reopening of the camp grounds are expected before July, we believe the recommended protocols and guidelines to limit the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic from the CDC, New York State Department of Health, and the American Camp Association will greatly limit the camp experience and will still expose the campers and staff to unnecessary risk of exposure to the Coronavirus.

Discovery Camp 2020 Executive committee has therefore decided to cancel the Summer Camp for 2020 season. We do not make this decision lightly, but only after many consultations and discussions. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

We understand there will be many children who will have no place to go during the long summer. Therefore we are in the process of creating a virtual summer camp for them. We will post further details on our website and Facebook page as we get closer to the summer.

We wish you health and peace as we navigate this challenging period together.

As of right now, we are planning on having camp continue for this summer as normal, but to err on the side of caution, we will be pausing registration until the end of April, and reevaluating the situation at that point. We know this situation is stressful for everyone, and we hope that Discovery Camp can continue to be a place where our campers can escape the stress of the world this summer! Until then, stay safe and know we are keeping you all in our thoughts and prayers!

先の見えない困難な時期ですが、皆さんが安全で、元気に過ごしていることを願っています！

今夏も通常通りキャンプを実施する予定ですが、現在の状況から受付を一旦停止し、4月末の状況で実施について再考することにしました。 私たちはこの状況が誰にとってもストレスであることを理解しています。　そして、この夏のディスカバリーキャンプが キャンパーにとってあらゆるストレスから離れることができる場所であり続けたいと願っています。 それまでは、安全に過ごしてください。　私たちは、皆さんのことを思い、祈っています！

Discovery Camp 2020 Fund Raising Concert Cancelled

Discovery Camp 2020 Fund Raising Concert scheduled for April 19, 2020 has been cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

SMJ would like to take this time to thank all of the people involved, especially the Biwanko Taiko Performance Team and Hitchcock Presbyterian Church in Scarsdale.

2020年4月9日に予定されていたディスカバリーキャンプ 2020 のファンドレイジングコンサートはコロナウィルス感染防止のため中止となりました。

ご協力いただいていた方々、特にパーフォーマンスを予定してくださった美和鼓（びわんこ）の皆さん、会場を提供してくださったスカースデールのヒッチコック長老教会に感謝を申し上げます。

イエス・キリストが生まれ、生き、死に、蘇った。その出来事を体験した人達が書いた新約聖書。その出来事を預言した旧約聖書。その聖書を読み信じた人たちは皆、自分なりの解釈をし、話し合い、戦い、分かち合い、神を理解しようとする事により様々の神学が生まれた。

キリスト教が誕生してから2000年どの様な神学が生まれたのか。そしてアメリカこそ聖書に描かれている、神より約束された土地と信じていたクリスチャンたちがどの様な神学をもちこの国に移民して、開拓し、今もなおアメリカの政治を動かしているのか。

クリスチャンがクリスチャンの為に作った国。そのように断言しても過言ではないアメリカ合衆国をキリスト教神学のレンズを通して見つめましょう。
